Aeritalia G.91Y

The Aeritalia G.91Y, also known as the Yankee, was a completely new aircraft despite sharing the same name as its predecessor, the Gina. With two engines powered by AB (GE J85-13) turbojets, it boasted greater power than the G.91R and nearly doubled its payload capacity. A total of 65 units were constructed, with all of them entering service exclusively with the AMI. They were organized into two Gruppi CBR squadrons from 1972 to 1994, showcasing their unique capabilities as fighter-bomber-reconnaissance aircraft. For those interested in creating a scale model of this historic jet, STL files are available for printing at a 1:100 ratio. The design is also compatible with smaller scales such as 1:285 or 1:300, and can be easily scaled down to 35% or 33% using your preferred slicer. For optimal results when printing the model in PLA, we recommend using a nozzle diameter of 0.4 mm and layer thicknesses of 0.08 mm. Supports and orientation should be configured as shown in the provided image for the best possible outcome. However, it's worth noting that some users may not be entirely satisfied with their printed models, possibly due to issues with mesh errors or other printing parameters. In such cases, experimenting with different print orientations, such as horizontal or splitting the model into two halves, may yield better results. In September 2019, a user successfully identified and corrected several mesh errors within the design.
