Human: XCB-105 Adamagan, Ancient Walrus Hunters' Village. Morzhovoi Bay, Western Alaska Peninsula. 400 BCE-100 CE\nAdamagan, the largest Arctic village in its time, was a massive settlement with multiple occupations. At its peak, around 400 BCE-100 CE, it housed an estimated 1,000 people. Archaeologists have also found evidence of limited occupations dating back to 2,200-1,700 BCE, 1,000-600 BCE, and 900-1,100 CE.\nThe artifacts from Western Alaska Peninsula were uncovered through research funded by NSF grants 9630072, 9814086, 9996372, 9996415, 1139266, and 1321411. H. Maschner led the investigation as Principal Investigator. The artifacts were scanned using Faro Edge Arm or Minolta Vivid 9i, then processed in Geomagic or Polyworks software. High-resolution textures were created by combining 2-8 photographs in Geomagic Wrap. Initial digitization took place at Iditarod University's IVL lab; subsequent processing and publication occurred at Global Digital Heritage.
