Dalton Adz Location: Hardaway site (31St4) in Stanly County, North Carolina. Period: The Early Archaic era spans 8000-6000 BC. Material: Metavolcanic rock was used to craft this tool. Dimensions: It measures 74.8 mm in length, 47.6 mm in width, and 19.5 mm in thickness. Notes: Herbert M. Doerschuk donated an uncataloged specimen from the North Carolina Archaeological Collection, which is housed at the Research Laboratories of Archaeology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The model was created by Chris LaMack.
