ADXL345 Bed Mount
prusaprinters

Inspired by the mount from pedrolamas, I remixed their .stp model into this version.

It clamps to the bed of my CR6-SE and my Ender-3, with the same three screws approach as the original, except that I added hotmelt inserts and a pillow block to protect the heater traces under the bed of the CR6.

It does not trap the accelerometer to the bed, like the original, instead I added two hotmelt inserts in blind holes on the top of the block, to which I can attach the ADXL345 pcb with two M3x5mm screws.

I managed to bend the pedrolamas model as I tightened those three screws, so I also bulked-up the body a bit.

This is the result.

I printed these models in Polyterra Charcoal Black PLA.

I have attached a Cura 5.0.x Project File and .3mf files for the mounting block and the pillow block. I have also attached an f3d file for the mounting block. I built up the pillow block in Microsoft 3D Builder, so there is no f3d file for that.

Post-Printing assembly of the mounting block requires:

five (5) M3x5x6 hotmelt inserts,

two (2) M3x5mm screws and

three (3) M3x16 screws.

With the attached pillow block, this mounting block clamps to my CR6-SE bed, which has a Creality magnetic sheet stuck to the aluminum heated bed, and a two-sided (smooth and powdered) PEI flexible steel sheet from 3DHUB.

If the fit is too tight on your bed, you can either scale the pillow block thinner to create the extra clearance, or use the enclosed f3d file to resize the mount.

Enjoy!

UPDATE - 29 Aug 22: Replaced the v1 files with a v2 version, to repair one of the 3 hotmelt insert holes in the bottom, which was neither properly placed nor joined to the body. Thanks to Killa_Prints for the heads-up!
