Just what you need this holiday season! The 3D Advent Calendar is perfect for kids of all ages, or even as a gift for someone special. Have fun printing it, adding chocolate or candy, and standing it up against a wall from December 1st until Christmas Day. The design has been scaled to fit on most printers with a build plate size of at least 200mm x 120mm (printed straight) or 180mm x 180mm (printed diagonally). The drawers are small but will still hold small pieces of chocolate, sweets, or candy. There are four different sizes and shapes of drawers, creating a visually appealing effect with the round drawers representing Christmas tree decorations. At standard scale, the inside dimensions of the drawers are: Small Round - 12mm x 26mm Medium Round - 14mm x 26mm Large Round - 17mm x 26mm Rectangular - 32mm x 26mm x 7mm Note: If you have a larger build plate, scaling all parts up uniformly is recommended to accommodate larger treats in the drawers. The tree is approximately 200mm long, but can be rotated to fit on slightly smaller build plates. It needs to be this size to ensure even small pieces of chocolate or candy can fit in the drawers... because there are 24 of them in total. Scaling down (X and Y) a bit is possible, but going too far will make the drawers hard to slide and there won't be enough space for the treats inside. Overall, this is an easy print, but it will take some time... due to the size of the tree plus 25 other parts (including the star). However, the end result is worth the effort if you want a 3D advent calendar. Each drawer features a recessed number for the day in December it's meant to be opened. It's recommended to print the first 1.5 - 2.0mm in one color, then pause your machine, change the filament color, and resume to finish the print. This will create a nice decorated tree effect. Print your drawers in batches (like 4 prints x 6 drawers) to make the process easier.
