This colossal rescue bot's mobility system is tailored for mine navigation, featuring a versatile track layout that allows agile movement in tight spaces and clearing large obstacles. Its metal chain tracks, coated with resilient rubber, ensure easy traversing of sand and gravel common in mines. The robot boasts six identical brushed DC motors, providing ample power for 60-degree slope climbing and a top speed of 1.6 m/s on flat ground. Originally designed and fabricated by another team, the bot faced technical issues prompting a redesign, which was successfully tested and met all criteria in 2014.
