The intended purpose of my design is to help people stay focused and be organized with their materials while they are virtual learning. My design is going to be an organizer to hold your materials that also doubles as a box where you can keep any distractions like a phone or other electronics inside. Furthermore, this 3-D design will help people complete their assignments more efficiently without any distractions that formerly would have hindered their learning.An issue that I came up with was finding out all of the dimensions to make my design. My constraints were that I had to come up with a 5 in by 5 in design at the most so I had to use my space effectively and conservatively to come up with the dimensions for my design. I had to find out the best dimensions for the phone holder because different types of phones have different dimensions. I think that if I had to redesign it I would make it more streamlined because right now it’s a little bulky 5x5x3 so I would want to make it a little bit more appealing to the eye and also a little more “graceful” because right now it’s just a big cube that isn’t very easy to carry around with you. Furthermore, I would make better use of the space because while the use of space in my design is good I feel like it could use some small improvements to make it even better. 3D printing helps strengthen my design because I include pencil holders, a phone holder and a place to hold other school materials as well all in one design. 3D printing is an easier way to construct my design rather than using real-world materials or just buying one because most design don’t include all three components that my design has.
