ADS-B Antenna Radome
thingiverse
I've modified this design to eliminate the need for separate PVC and cap parts, streamlining the build process. By removing through mounting holes, I added a radome section to enhance durability. Additionally, I lengthened the mounting section since mine needs to be mounted lower down on the mast, ensuring it stays away from the mast's base. To assemble this project, start by adding 68mm of wire to the center pin of either a PL259 or Type N connector. This wire will run inside the radome, providing a sturdy connection. Next, create four radials, each 68mm long and bent at a precise 45-degree angle, using the mounting holes as guides. These holes are 15mm deep, allowing for secure attachment. This design is a classic example of a ground plane antenna, performing well even in areas with dense foliage like my own property surrounded by trees. When printing this part, I recommend using PLA, but PETG can be used outdoors for added durability. For an extra layer of protection against the elements, simply spray paint the PLA finish to ensure a long-lasting seal.
