Adorante restored to be Euterpe at The Louvre, Paris

The surviving body of this sculpture reveals its original purpose. Commissioned by Emperor Augustus for his wife, it shares a similar shape with other statues of the same type. The form of this body strongly suggests that it was intended for worship. In the late 18th century, a modern head and two flutes were added, transforming the statue into Euterpe, the muse of music. This object is part of "Scan The World", a non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory to create a digital archive of fully printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the world.
