AdoramaPix Picture Hanging Bracket
thingiverse
This is a wall hanging bracket for metal prints made by AdoramaPix. When you order a metal print from them, they supply a wooden bracket to screw into the wall where you can hang the print. (see photo #5 and #6) They have a recess in the frame on the back of the picture that exactly matches the bracket they supply. This bracket is adequate but they've spaced the screw holes horizontally so at best you can only get one screw into a stud. They do supply a mini bubble level, but the bracket doesn't have any adjustment for leveling. You only get one shot at drilling the holes in the wall, making it crucial to get it right on the first try. I designed a new bracket that greatly improves upon this design. I use two vertically spaced holes for #8 screws that can be screwed into the same stud for solid mounting. I also provide a slotted lower hole so the bracket can be rotated slightly in case you don't get both holes exactly in the right place. Additionally, I offer a vertical recess to mark the center of the bracket. This allows you to make a mark on the frame of the picture to assure that it's hanging perfectly centered on the bracket.
