Here's more information about this remarkable ship: The Adler von Lübeck, also known as the Der Große Adler or Lübscher Adler, was a 16th-century warship from the Hanseatic city of Lübeck in Germany. At its time, it was one of the largest ships in the world, measuring an impressive 78.30 meters long overall and displacing approximately 2,000 to 3,000 tons. This massive war galleon was built by Lübeck during the Northern Seven Years' War specifically to escort merchant ships through the Baltic and North Sea. However, the Adler von Lübeck never saw battle since Lübeck had already initiated peace talks with Sweden when the ship was completed. Following the Treaty of Stettin in 1570, the ship was converted into a freighter for trade with the Iberian Peninsula. The Adler von Lübeck served for twenty years before being dismantled in 1588.
