Adjustment tool for Cybernet 134 CB radio transmit PA stage
thingiverse
This is a 3D printed tool for adjustment of the 3 inductors located in the transmit power amplifier stage of the 1981 classic Cybernet 134 CB radio chassis as used in many classic UK market CB radios by the likes of Rotel, York, Harrier and Harvard to name but a few. When aligning the transmitter in these radios it is important to follow a procedure to set the PA to deliver 4 watts (the service manual says 3.8) and balance this across the 40 channels, the PA is adjusted by the 3 coloured inductors at the rear which have cores that will accept a hexagonal tool but NOT an allen key as this breaks the cores, this 3D printed tool should provide a suitable alternative as suitable tools can only be imported into the UK from America at great expense, I've not seen any UK sellers. It may require adjustment to suit your printer but on the Ender 3 Pro and slicing using Cura I did not seem to need to make any adjustments. It is a snug fit in the cores so I strongly advise caution but anyone working on these old radios will know that caution is always advised as some parts are unobtainable these days The tool has a hexagonal section to provide grip in the centre so supports should be enabled for printing it, I printed it vertically and used the adhesion setting in Cura as well as the support for the hexagonal section in the centre for providing grip when using the tool. If when it is loaded into Cura (or whatever you use to create the gcode for the 3D printer) the object is oriented with the narrow end facing down, flip this so the narrow end faces up so it is printed last I have a video on my YouTube channel showing the tool here https://youtu.be/K6FYGhJdv_k
