adjustment-free Z endstops and wobble isolator
thingiverse
The Z-lift is designed specifically for mendel style printers, fitting beneath their X-ends and housing micro switches that detect contact between the print nozzle and print bed. Adjustments are made using software alone, while the device also helps to isolate Z-screw wobble, implement bed probing, and potentially cure bad breath (your mileage may vary). To use this Z-lift, you'll need one or two submicroswitches, M2 screws and nuts, M2 washers, and M8 nuts. The switches should be smaller than the space available at the bottom of your Z screws, with larger sizes requiring scad file modifications. Wiring should follow a NC (normally closed) configuration, and the lifts should fit snugly without gripping the smooth rod too firmly. Once mounted, adjust your Z screws to level the X carriage before setting up your "Start G-Code" in your slicer configuration for optimal use. Lastly, remember to clean the spot where leveling occurs between prints and avoid levelling in the middle of the bed.
