Adjustable zip / cable - tie PCB circuit board prototype spacer raiser fixation stand hold
thingiverse
This contraption aims to solve some of the current nuances that take place when making electronic board prototypes. Most of the circuit boards are fitted with delicate and sharp components that pertrude from both sides that must be protected aswell as the people handling them. This simple structure aims to be the fastest way to protect one or both sides of the circuit by providing it a space away from surfaces thus protecting it fragile parts. Furthermore the structure that provides the protection also serves if one wanted to mount a prototyped enclosure. It works by providing a structure to the corner of the board by placing four pillards that have slots in them where the board fits, and in one of them, and embedded zip tie which is used to bind all of the pillars together by going through them. Currently zip ties are commonly used in the electronics worlds for its reliability, ease of use and speed but are applied to its cables. In terms of isolation either spacers are used which are slow and require tooling to be screwed in; or, plastic rivets that are difficult to remove and do not provide such stiffness and also require hole compatibility. In today’s world, where there is an increasing facility to prototype electronics, as well as volume and diversity in the upbringing of new electrical project, this device could become a prevalent standard. In the development process we have gone through several iterations and have a good working design. //// Fits many size
