Adjustable Z-Probe Mount

Adjustable Z-Probe Mount

thingiverse

This is a highly adjustable and modular z-probe specifically designed for use with Makerbot Microswitches on delta printers, however using 3.02 for the lower part allows compatibility with other switches as well. The conventional Z-Probe position on Delta printers cannot accommodate the large size of the Makerbot Microswitch boards because they interfere with the arms, so this design mounts the switch at the bottom and triggers it via a lever. The modular design makes it easy to replace individual elements to fit your printer. You will need: 9 M3 Socketed screws in various lengths 9 M3 Nuts A Long #2 or #1.5 Allen Wrench A Spring The Mount Base (z-ProbeMount.1.00.Base.stl) - This is the base which acts as a mount to the effector, designed separately so that it can be replaced without having to change the rest of the system. Top ( z-ProbeMount.1.00 Top.stl) - This allows sliding the probe further away from the effector or moving vertically. The Z-Probe Body Base (z-ProbeBody.3.01.Base.stl) - Not to be confused with that Mount's base, this part has an area for the spring and mounts directly to the Mount's Top, but also requires the Body's Top piece as well. Upper (z-ProbeBody.3.01.Upper.stl) - This is needed to keep control of the lever and have a lock position for the probe. Lever (z-ProbeBody.3.00.Lever.stl) - For depressing the switch. Lower v3.01 (z-ProbeBody.3.01.Lower.stl) - This part is specifically designed for the Makerbot Microswitch PCB mounting pins, so if you are using a different switch, consider using the v3.02 instead. Lower v3.02 (z-ProbeBody.3.02.Lower.stl) - This can be used for other switches with different screw hole widths, but it will not work with the Makerbot Microswitch because of the wider design which would interfere with PCB's mounting pins on the bottom of the board. Coupler (z-ProbeCoupler_1.07) - This adds tension to the spring, but it might be better off made of metal; if you do use this, make sure the screw is on the front (towards the switch) instead of facing towards the back, otherwise it will hit the effector. Full (z-ProbeFull.3.00) - This part is not meant for printing purposes, but to be able to view the parts in relation to one another.
