Adjustable X Endstop for GeeeTech Prusa I3 Pro B
thingiverse
This is a simple adjustable endstop for the Geeetech Prusa I3 Pro B. It's designed to slip over the existing aluminum XCarriage endstop trigger nub, allowing you to fine-tune the home position of the extruder in the X axis. Print Settings Printer: Geeetech Prusa I3 Pro B Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.02mm Infill: 20% Notes: Printed in PLA at 40mm/s and 215 degrees. Post-Printing Required Parts 1 x Printed Model 1 x M3 X 40mm Bolt 1 x Spring (same as used for heatbed and Z endstop) 1 x M3 x 8mm Bolt 2 x M3 Square Nut 3 x M3 Washer Step 1 - Prepare the New Endstop Take the 40mm bolt and thread the following onto it in the order written: M3 Washer, Spring, M3 Washer. Take a square nut and slot it into the rear slot. Screw the 40mm bolt and spring/washers into the long hole that intersects with the square nut. The end of the bolt should protrude out of the back of the model, which will trigger the microswitch. Step 2 - Remove the Extruder Remove the two bolts from the underside of the extruder to lift it off the carriage. Put the extruder somewhere out of the way. If needed, disconnect any cables and remove the filament. Step 3 - Attaching the New Endstop Slot a square nut into the remaining slot on the underside of the model. Take the endstop and slot it over the X carriage, lining up the holes in the model and the X carriage. Thread a washer onto the 8mm bolt and slot it into the model. Reposition the model until the bolt goes through the hole in the X carriage. Tighten down the bolt until the model won't move. Step 4 - Reattach the Extruder Place the extruder back onto the X carriage and tighten down to two bolts. Reattach any cables you removed earlier. Step 5 - Configuring Disable steppers or turn off the printer. Slide the X carriage to the home position and tighten the 40mm bolt until it engages the microswitch, hearing a click. If your firmware supports it, get a visual readout on the LCD when the endstop is engaged. Home the X axis and ensure the nozzle is in the correct position afterwards. Congratulations Your new adjustable X endstop is ready to go. How I Designed This Why this was needed for my printer: The extruder tensioner that comes with the Geeetech Prusa I3 Pro B is lacking, made of plastic, and not adjustable. I upgraded to an all-aluminum alternative but it came in a left-hand configuration. After modifying the extruder, I realized the existing endstop trigger nub on the X carriage wouldn't reach the endstop microswitch. To fix this, I designed this adjustable add-on for the X carriage using OpenSCAD and spare parts from the printer build.
