Adjustable Width Tabletop Filament Spool Holder

This is a versatile filament spool stand that I have utilized on my desktop next to a printer and inside my filament dry box. The goal was to create something that could accommodate almost any filament spool and was easy to swap out spools. To print one stand, you will need the following parts: 1 x BodySide-WithThreads 1 x BodySide-NoThreads 1 x AdjusterScrew 1 x AdjusterScrewLock 4 x BearingWasher 2 x Rail You will also require the following additional components: 4 x M3x4 bolts 6 x M3x12 (slightly longer is acceptable) bolts 4 x 608 ball bearings OPTIONAL: adhesive rubber feet (these are nice to prevent it from sliding around on hard surfaces, but they are not necessary) Assembly Instructions Insert the rail pieces through the body side without threads so that the long end protrudes out the side with posts. Install a short M3 bolt and thread it through the top of each hole, securing it beneath with an M3 nut. Insert the adjuster screw through the same body piece you just attached the rails to, ensuring the length sticks out in the same direction. On the inside of the body piece, slide the adjuster lock over the divot on the adjuster screw and then secure it to the body using two longer M3 bolts and nuts. Add a 608 bearing over each post on the interior sides of the body pieces, securing each by placing a bearing washer over it and fastening a longer M3 bolt with a nut through it. I prefer to secure them with the bolt heads facing outwards, but this is not crucial. Next, slide the body side with threads over the end of the rails so that the bearing sides face each other, and twist the adjuster screw to initiate the process. Adjust to your desired width by twisting the adjuster screw.
