Adjustable TUSH-style spool holder with a scissor mechanism.
thingiverse
Adjustable between 17mm and approximately 102mm - this spool should fit most any situation. Requires four 608 bearings and at least four M3 x 8mm button-head bolts, with bearing posts designed for press-fit installation using an optional bolt for added strength or clamping the bearing in place. Bearing guides can be found here by harlandraka: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2408490 Frustrated with the constant falling over and fiddly spool swaps of the TUSH, yet most adjustable remixes take up too much space, I created one with a scissor mechanism using M3 button head screws as pivot and sliding points. The bearing posts have a hole for an M3 bolt and an optional nut for added strength that greatly reduces/removes delamination risk. **Hardware Requirements:** * 4x 608 bearings with printed guides (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2408490) or flanged bearings. * 4x M3 8mm to button head bolts for the scissor mechanism. **Optional Hardware:** * 4x M3 button or countersunk head bolts for the bearing posts. * 4x M3 nuts for clamping the bearing posts. The Fusion 360 project file is included - it's a partially parametrically modelled design, so editing should be relatively straightforward. I'm still inexperienced with Fusion 360, so some unorthodox methods and decisions may be found within. I technically didn't remix anything since I modelled everything from scratch myself, but the visual design takes heavy inspiration from thing:2086877, so proper credit is given where due.
