A compact, tabletop spool holder designed to accommodate various brands of spools without requiring tool-less adjustments. This unit relies on four 625ZZ bearings, each featuring a 5mm inner diameter, 16mm outer diameter, and 5mm width, along with all other necessary parts. This spool holder is ideal for printers lacking built-in spool holders, especially those that do not use bowden setups (although it may work for some bowden configurations). Originally created for a Printrbot Maker's edition printer, this design has since been shared to benefit others. Parts list: * 2 Side Panels * 1 Threaded Rod * 2 Adjust Knobs * 2 Knob Captures * 4 Bearing Mounts * 4 Bearing Pins * 8 Mount Pins * 8 Bearing Washers (optional, but recommended to reduce friction) * 4 625ZZ Bearings Construction notes: * The knob captures may require trimming with a razor blade due to significant overhangs. * Super Glue or Hot Glue is recommended for assembling the pins, as they may not fit tightly. The longer pins are designed for bearings. * Adding rubber feet can help prevent the holder from sliding on low-friction surfaces. * This design is not suitable for tangled or haphazardly wrapped filaments, as pulling forces can cause the reel to come loose.
