I found https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3075868 really useful to mount things on the handrail of my balcony, so I edited it to add holes and nut pockets, so I could add a few M4 screws and attach pretty much anything to it. I also made the depth of the top part configurable, so to give more room to the screws. The OpenSCAD file is included. It has editable parameters to set the horizontal and vertical distance between holes (default is 15x20mm), and the hole and nut size (suitable for M4 screws and nuts).
