Adjustable Standoff Spacer
thingiverse
This was my first design project aimed at mastering 3D modeling and creating a stylish stand for my TabloTV unit, which tends to get warm when sitting on the countertop. I sought to craft a design that would be visually appealing enough not to hide in a living room, so I opted for lots of curves and rounded edges to give it a polished look. As I progressed with the project, I decided to make the design flexible, allowing me to use it for various sized items without having to edit the model. To achieve this flexibility, I incorporated a rubber band in the middle, which provides a way to keep some tension on the corners without needing to print and measure specific sizes for each device. I minimized support structures throughout the design. Printing with a raft is highly recommended due to the arch on the fin connected to the rubber band. Future iterations will likely focus on making the design more stackable, but this version worked out well overall.
