I design adjustable smartphone holders for DIY filming rigs, which are essential for my college time-based media course. Since our department lacks video equipment, I've developed a solution that enables students to repurpose their existing gear for artistic purposes by attaching these holders to inexpensive poplar 1x2 film rigs. This setup allows students to utilize the resources they already own, making art-making more accessible. This holder is a remix of two Thingiverse projects, which I've optimized to create the strongest possible design suitable for approximately 100 students per semester.
