Adjustable Sink Bridge and Whetstone Holder

<p>A mostly 3D printed whetsone sink bridge that is used to securely hold most sizes of whetstone over your sink so you can sharpen safely and easily. The stls provided are 59mm wide (to suit the generic two-sided soaking stones available on amazon) and hold anything thicker than 7mm.</p><p>Very much inspired by <a href="https://www.thingiverse.com/mikechenders1">mikechenders</a> design <a href="https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4772858/files">here</a>, but designed from scratch to be adjustable, easy to use, and built from what I had on hand. You can see what r/sharpening had to say <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/sharpening/comments/rzy9u9/3d_printed_whetsone_sink_bridge/">here</a>.</p><p>There are two versions, one which uses printed threads for M5 and one which has 6.6mm holes for M5 heat-set threaded inserts (I uses the ones made by <a href="https://www.youtube.com/c/CNCKitchen">CNC-kitchen</a>). To make the sink-bridge you need the following:</p><p>Always print:</p><ul><li>sink_corner_narrow_top</li><li>sink_corner_narrow_bottom</li><li>sink_corner_wide</li><li>m5_socket_head_thumbscrew (x2)</li><li>soft_jaw (x2) - print in TPU if possible</li></ul><p>If you want to use threaded inserts (recommended)</p><ul><li>quad_joiner_threaded_insert</li><li>whetsone_holder_both_threaded_insert</li><li>whetsone_holder_narrow_threaded_insert</li></ul><p>If you want to use printed threads (does work but not as easy)</p><ul><li>quad_joiner_printed_threads</li><li>whetsone_holder_both_printed_threads</li><li>whetsone_holder_narrow_printed_threads</li></ul><p>Hardware required</p><ul><li>M5 socket head cap screws (3x25mm for the ends, 1x15mm & 1x20mm for the thumbscrews)</li><li>M5 nut (3)</li><li>M5 set screw (4x12mm)</li><li>10mm rubber feet (optional)</li><li>M5 heat-set inserts (6, optional)</li><li>12mm round bar approx. 30cm: PVC, aluminium, steel etc (4)</li></ul><p>I have provided both the .f3d and .step files so you can easily make changes to suit your needs. The Fusion file is almost completely parametric (and hopefully very robust) so it should be easy to change things like widths and heights by simply changing the parameters. If you can't make any changes please leave a comment and I will be happy to make them for you.</p><p>I printed this from eSun PETG with the soft jaw in TPU but any material should be fine.</p><p>Happy sharpening!</p>
