Adjustable Pipe Wrench
prusaprinters

Pipe burst and water spraying out all over the floor? Don't call a plumber, simply download the attached STL files, and in just six short hours you can fix your own leaky pipes with this quality wrench constructed of super tough and durable plastic.

Printing

I used PETG with 0.2 mm layer height for the jaw and handle, and 0.1 mm layer height for the nut. I used 3 perimeters to give the wrench extra strength when loosening the most stubborn pipe fittings.

See the photos above for the correct printing orientation. For the handle, the strongest orientation is with it lying down, but this does require paint-on supports in one area (see the screenshot above).

I highly recommend printing the pieces in bright colors so your pipe wrench will really stand out among all your tools. Your old, outdated cast iron wrenches will be jealous.

Assembly

Thread the nut onto the jaw while inserting the jaw through the slot in the handle. The jaw should be held in place by the nut.

Wait, does this actually work?

Not really. It might work for some low torque applications, like those plastic compression fittings under your sink. The plastic is too soft and slippery to grip a metal pipe. It was still fun to design, print, and play with though. It might make a fun gift for a plumber.

OnShape model: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/e97cc80aeb60cff7b102e942/w/dcade139ad916765c051a81f/e/09217afe664ea86c41848eeb?renderMode=0&uiState=61c7d328569f3517eb7e8160
