This is a Modified Laser Module Mount with a Glider For the knob, it was not specifically designed for this application. Many knob designs exist on Thingiverse. Simply choose a knob with a flat shaft/washer-shaped base face. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1562501 The repaired M5 file from thing 641854 has been added. Last Edit: August 30, 2019 https://thingiverse-production-new.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/d9/5c/dc/6f/b6/Fraesli_Laser1.JPG https://thingiverse-production-new.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/82/b8/dc/c0/b0/laser_gliderv4_3.JPG https://thingiverse-production-new.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/d6/30/c0/ac/5d/laser_gliderv4_2.JPG https://thingiverse-production-new.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/cf/56/30/ce/4e/laser_gliderv4_1.JPG Credit goes to user ZhilDV (Moscow). Thanks, mate. Tech Data (Travel): Using a 55mm screw length gains a maximum travel of 35mm (with the screw fully gripping the nut inside the glider). https://thingiverse-production-new.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/85/f0/48/87/03/max_travel_35mm_screw_55mm.JPG The longer the screw, the more travel is gained, but the slider starts leaving the guiding channel already. What it Does: Manually adjusting focus by changing the z-height over the table using a knob held by the hexagonal head of a long 5mm screw. The knob diameter is only 22mm. Tiny small but does not conflict with the surface you may screw the base on. https://thingiverse-production-new.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/c1/73/79/ca/67/2.JPG https://thingiverse-production-new.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/c2/2a/39/b0/fc/1.JPG Warning: Travelling the slider down too far will bring the laser module down to the table. There is no stop at the lower end of the rail. The Files: Glider v5 Base v3 Needed Parts: 1x screw M5 60-80mm, hex head 1x hex nut M5 1x Nylon lock screw 1x 3mm mount screws for the laser module (sunken) Print out both parts using the same orientation and slicer settings. Made them using PLA - 0.2mm layer height, fine mode - 80 percent infill. Because of tight space, the 3mm mount screws for the laser module have to be sunken. The head should sit flush with the slider surface. Some older pictures are showing the earlier made parts. The first made slider required some work after printing in order to make a fit with the 3mm screw heads. Remixed from thing:3347604, but I made it smaller and more versatile. It is not strictly limited to be used on my Eleksmaker A3 laser CNC. Put it to almost any x-carriage of CNC, Laser, 3D printer you want. Edit your own version here: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/3FXxnMb2CoC-laser-manuell-slider-v5-extra-tight Picture: quick test if it fits a Prusa style printer frame (unfortunately not suited for using as a CNC PCB mill) https://thingiverse-production-new.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/d9/5c/dc/6f/b6/Fraesli_Laser1.JPG Test if it fits my Frickel Maschine the Name "Fraesli" (cute Austrian designation for milling machine) This long screw has been locked. There is a 5mm nylon lock screw below the top wall of the base. Mounting is a pain in the ass, with no proper long narrow wrench. https://thingiverse-production-new.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/e5/46/f3/95/af/3.JPG Please take note: Print out both parts using the same orientation and slicer settings. Made them using PLA - 0.2mm layer height, fine mode - 80 percent infill. Because of tight space, the 3mm mount screws for the laser module have to be sunken.
