Adjustable Laptop, Tablet, or Document Stand
thingiverse
This is a versatile stand that can be used with laptops, tablets, and other items. The project originated from having to work remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. The design allows for highly flexible adjustments, tilting up to 63 degrees in either direction from horizontal, in one-degree increments, using two pins inserted into a Vernier-style hole set. The stand's height positions the screen approximately at eye level when seated in an office chair at a standard desk or table (28 inches high). Its purpose is to align with typical computer monitor heights. The adjustable features and accessories enable it to work effectively with most laptops and tablets measuring between 7 and 16 inches in size. It has been tested on several Apple MacBooks, iPads, Dell, Lenovo laptops, as well as various tablets and Kindle Fire devices. Older models with thicker bodies require stop plate extensions to prevent slipping. The stand also functions well as a document holder (print two). Included files provide two document extenders – short and long – ensuring documents up to 14 inches long are securely supported. Files for printing snap-in TPU bumpers, serving as anti-slip pads, are also included. These pads are 10mm in diameter and 3mm tall, similar to those found in local hardware stores or online at Amazon and eBay. Thin anti-slip sheets can be used instead. The uploaded files contain instructions, images, STL, and 3MF file formats, as well as G Code for printing with a Mk3S printer in PETG and TPU materials for the bumpers.
