This is a versatile mount for David Crocker's compact differential IR sensor. It attaches to the front half of the clamp commonly used to hold an E3D V6, making installation incredibly easy without replacing other parts. The starting point was Tech2C's clamp found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1752766. A 40mm bed leveling screw and knob from Amazon is utilized: https://tinyurl.com/y9h54ha5. The spring included with the bed leveling screw proved too stiff, so a spring from a Home Depot assortment pack was used instead. An M3 nut inserted into the movable part of the mount and a small washer under the knob were also employed. The screw is slightly too long and may hit the wire connector on the sensor. If the bed leveling knob is used on top as done here, it's recommended to cut 5mm off the screw. Without using the knob, closer to 10mm may need to be removed. Some sanding will be necessary for smooth movement. The sensor can be obtained from Filastruder. A PDF with setup notes from a visited forum has been included; unfortunately, the link is no longer available. These notes describe firmware changes needed in the config.h file of Marlin. David Crocker's site also offers installation notes: https://miscsolutions.wordpress.com/mini-height-sensor-board/. Sensor offset settings in config.h are defined as follows: #define X_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -17 // X offset: -left +right [of the nozzle] #define Y_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 5 // Y offset: -front +behind [the nozzle] #define Z_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 0 // Z offset: -below +above [the nozzle]
