Adjustable Height Keyboard (dell)
thingiverse
I recently acquired a sit/stand desk at work, but as a tall guy standing at 6'4", I found myself in an awkward situation. When standing at full height, my keyboard was positioned so low that my wrists were bent at nearly a 45-degree angle, making work extremely uncomfortable. To resolve this issue, I designed specialized supports to elevate the keyboard by 2 inches, ensuring my wrists remained flat and inline with the keyboard. The included supports feature 1.5 in up to 3 in files for adjustable height settings. As I use a Dell keyboard, I assume the hole size and alignment are consistent across all their models. Currently, I simply align the supports on my desk when switching from sitting to standing mode. However, I plan to drill a small section of the sit/stand desk where the holes in the supports are located, then insert a nut holder into the hole for easy placement of the support. The nut holder has an outer diameter of 0.375 inches and is designed for use with M3 screws and nuts. I also included a palm rest as a thoughtful addition. Due to Corona Quarantine restrictions, I haven't had the opportunity to test these supports in my office, but they should function as intended. Stay safe everyone!
