This handle was designed to be versatile, functioning well for both children and adults despite being intended specifically for kids with disabilities. The idea is to create a handle that can adapt to various needs based on the specific disability. When designing this project, ease of build and affordability were top priorities - only four PVC pieces (20mm) and five printed parts are required, along with four M3 screws. The goal was to establish a non-profit organization focused on fitting electric cars for children with disabilities. The project aims to create an adaptable handle that can be customized to meet the needs of each child. This handle is designed to be adjustable in multiple ways, allowing it to be thinner and wider, higher or lower, closer or farther away from the driver's hands. Additionally, the actual handle bars are capable of turning within their sockets, enabling the placement of a microswitch at any desired angle for optimal control over the driver's actions - whether pushing, pulling, or squeezing. To accommodate different children with varying abilities, the handle bars can be easily removed and replaced in their sockets, allowing users to switch between left-handed and right-handed configurations. The handle is stable when secured by screws. For more information about this project, including a video demonstration (available in Hebrew), feel free to message me or comment below.
