Adjustable Guitar Desk Rest - Customizable Step File Included
thingiverse
An ounce of prevention... A guitar rest, to keep your guitar playing music rather than being glued back together. Compatible with just about any guitar from classical to electric. Glue felt to guitar rest surface and a used bicycle inner tube to desk clamping surface. This is adjustable so you can take it traveling and use it on different size desks. Print this baby's upper clamp in PLA, or PETG for a bit more ductility if you want to be really cool. Screw can be printed just fine in PLA or whatever. I recommend printing threaded thangs with axis of threads orthogonal to extruders z-axis (print sideways, even though you'll need supports) Otherwise the layer adhesion will be all that is keeping your threads from ripping apart when being clamped. Designed in SolidWorks in 10 minutes after using the clamp from this: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1657541/files Don't use a lot of fan so you get better layer adhesion (depending on ambient temps and your machine). If this needs improvement, comment please and I'll redesign. Maybe the next version could fold up for storage and travel. Send me a message if you make this better. I used channel lock pliers to unscrew the support out of the clamp threads- took some wiggling but it came out clean.
