Adjustable / Extendable Filament Spool Stand - Flashforge Creator Pro additions
cults3d
I stumbled upon a remarkable filament holder on Thingiverse that caught my attention, but I wanted to give it a resizable twist based on the spool width. So, I designed one using three bridge parts to set the width of the holder. These bridges also feature holes for creating add-ons. First, I created "hooks" to suspend the stool from the top of my printer. It works quite well but can become problematic when printing large pieces that occupy most of the plate, causing filament uncoiling issues. However, it handles smaller prints with ease. I'm considering designing another addon to keep the holder on a table and feed the filament upwards into the printer for larger prints. The only essential components needed are four 8x22x7 ball bearings, which easily snap in place. You can find them on Amazon at http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PI3ELZY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I've included the FreeCAD source code, so feel free to remix and have fun with it.
