This is a robust electric motor mount designed specifically for my high-performance Phoenix Edge 540 aircraft with a wingspan of 55.5 inches. The mount is engineered to seamlessly integrate with any of the affordable 42mm NTM prop-drive motors available from Hobbyking, ensuring a precise and efficient setup. By meticulously crafting the mount to be roughly the right length, I've managed to position the prop on the electric motor in the same optimal location as it was when using the original nitro motor. The motor mount holes are carefully designed to accommodate the aluminum plate included in the NTM prop drive accessory kit from Hobbyking, measuring approximately 48x48mm. The firewall mounting holes are precisely 45x45mm, and all holes are a secure 4mm diameter, making them compatible with both 4-40 hardware and 3-4mm hardware. While the mount may appear over-engineered to some, I prioritized safety and durability above all else. With 6s power (22.2v) driving this motor, it's clear that the load will be substantial, but with this mount in place, you can rest assured that your aircraft will be well-protected. **Motor Specifications:** * Motor: NTM Prop Drive Series 42/58/500kv/1300w AR Warehouse * Accessory Kit: NTM Prop Drive 42 Series Accessory Pack AR Warehouse **UPDATE:** I've since uploaded an updated version of the mount, featuring adjustable mounting positions for added versatility. **Print Settings:** * Printer: Turnigy Fabrikator * Rafts: None required * Supports: Yes, to ensure a smooth print process * Infill: 100%, for maximum strength and durability **Printing Notes:** To achieve optimal results, I recommend printing the mount on its side using lined supports for the middle, circular section. A high infill percentage (100%) is crucial, as this mount will be subjected to significant forces during flight. While ABS plastic is my material of choice, PLA would also be a suitable alternative. **Important:** Before installing this motor mount in your aircraft, I strongly recommend conducting several bench tests to ensure its structural integrity can withstand the weight and forces involved in flight. This mount must support the entire weight of the loaded plane, plus any additional stresses it may encounter during operation.
