Adjustable Cooling Nozzle for PLA or ABS/PETG- WIP

Adjustable Cooling Nozzle for PLA or ABS/PETG- WIP

thingiverse

I'm tossing around a concept I came up with, and it's still pretty rough.\nThe current nozzle design has worked well for me when printing PLA, but for PETG, I needed to shut off the cooling on the bed. Instead of designing a new nozzle or taping over this one, I thought, why not make it adjustable?\nIt uses a cylindrical piece across the nozzle with a slot in it. When turned one way, the airflow comes out for printing PLA. When turned 90 degrees, it blocks the airflow for ABS or PETG.\nI haven't tested it yet, and this is just a first draft. I'm hoping to refine it and need to tweak the nozzle a bit, but theoretically, it should work as-is.\nIt's designed to print in one piece with no supports.\nIf you're skilled with 3D design and want to run with the idea, PLEASE DO! I'm sure any of you talented people can improve on what I've done. I just wanted to get the concept out there.\nPrint Settings\nPrinter: Monoprice MP Select Mini\nRafts: No\nSupports: No\nResolution: 0.2\nInfill: 100%
