Adjustable Braille Tablet
thingiverse
The intended use of this adjustable braille tablet is to teach blind children how to read braille quickly and efficiently. Several braille tablets can be used together to spell out words, each one representing a letter (or number) in the braille alphabet. A helpful hint when working with the small hole on the top plate with pegs: if it's located at the bottom half of the tablet, you know the tablet is properly aligned for reading letters or numbers. Braille Bumpers You can secure one or two raised braille dots by popping a special bumper into place from underneath the tablet. A double bumper will raise two of the dots, while a single bumper will elevate either the left or right dot in a row depending on its orientation. Easy Assembly Assemble the tablet by placing the plate with depressions flat-side-down on a level surface. Then, carefully drop all six dots into place so each has the taller bump facing upwards. After that, apply glue to the center of the plate and place the second plate over top so its pegs fit snugly into the depressions. Let the glue dry completely, and your tablet will be fully functional along with the bumpers in no time.
