
Adjustable book holder

An ergonomic adjustable book holder. For free for all book lovers. It is assembled of several parts that fit one to another very well. All can be 3d printed without supports. The structure was thoroughly designed to be useful and easy to adjust - I have worked on it for about a year to be eventually satisfied. I love popular science books. Usually, during the reading, I make some notes, eat something and play on tablet. But paper books tend to close and it's uncomfortable to hold them all the time to prevent it. While laying on the table they're not in front of the eyes - it's also annoying for me. This book holder resolves all these problems. It is assembled of several parts: A, A', B, C, D and E. Component B must be connected with A and A' (B has inserts related to slides in A and A'). You can use super glue to join them permanently. Element C must be slided into the B. It is a movable part (don't use glue), so it allows you to adjust the holder to books of different heights (check photos linked below). Two components E are used as supports. Grooves in elements A and A' enable to insert E at three different heights. This results in three different angles of the book - you can choose which is the best for you (44, 49 and 54 degrees). Component D is a stopper. It prevents the book from closing. D.short (5 mm) is better for paperback books and D.high (12 mm) is better for hard-back books. Four of such elements should be 3d printed, so they can hold pages on the top and on the bottom, on the right and on the left side. A, A' and C have slides (grooves) for components D. There are several rows available, so the holder works for books of different thickness. If you start reading, the left side of the book is thinner, so you can place components D tighter there. During the reading you have to turn pages. As the element C is movable, you can slide it a bit up to facilitate this action.
