Adjustable Belt Tensioner

Adjustable Belt Tensioner

thingiverse

The Belt Tensioner, adjustable via a set hex screw, comprises two parts. Compatible with Ultimaker printers but suitable for other machines/belts too. Highlights include its compact design, which doesn't obstruct mechanics, and the requirement of only a M4 set screw during assembly. This tensioner features Ultimaker-specific orientations; adjustments may be necessary for other machines. Print both parts without support material, ensuring at least 50% infill for strength. I printed mine with 100%, which didn't significantly extend printing time. Screw a M4 set screw into the block until it nearly protrudes on the inner side. Attach the block to your belt by pushing it on, positioning the screw head downward for left/right belts and upward for front/rear belts. Next, insert the inset into its designated spot, pressing the flat side against the belt while holding the block with your other hand. Check if the tensioner interferes with sliding blocks; adjust pulleys or shift the tensioner as needed. Fasten the belt by tightening the inset screw. Enjoy printing! :-)
