Adjustable ABL Bracket for Metal Beds
thingiverse
I recently picked up a flex metal bed to use as a replacement for the black rubber bed on my printer, so I could get better prints. When I went to install it, the bed level sensor would stop about 1/2 inch above the bed and would not go any lower. No matter how many times I reset the sensor, and the Z settings, it would not go any closer to the plate than that. I first tried idum_zaes' ABL relocator (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4560987) and was able to get the sensor closer, but not close enough to get the hotend to reach the plate. Looking around, I ran across Mooncactus' ABL rail (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:126716) With a little modification, I made an adjuster which works for me. This adjuster will go on my backup Tronxy XY2 Pro which has the metal plate (runs PLA). I will make another adjuster when I get a second metal plate for my main Tronxy XY2 Pro that I use for ABS and PETG. As for the hardware parts, Mooncactus used metric parts for his design, but I used 8-32 screws and nuts since that was what I had on-hand. Although I printed this in ABS, PLA would work fine. The adjuster allows for 1 inch / 27.5mm of travel so it has plenty of space to work in.
