Adjustable 5mm LED cube jig
thingiverse
This is the 5mm LED jig. Want to build a 3x3x3, 5x5x5, 8x8x8 or even a 1x1x1 LED cube? With these prints you can make a jig for any size LED cube. Simply print the pieces and snap them together to create a jig that helps you solder your LED cube. Using the corner pieces you can easily space out the layers. The pieces are designed for 5mm LEDs that are spaced 25mm apart. I've included the OpenSCAD files so you can customize the pieces to fit your printer/LEDs if needed. Instructions: Print one puzzle piece for each LED in a layer. Connect the pieces together to form the layer. Add some prestik or putty to help keep the LEDs in place. Use this as your LED jig to solder a layer. Once you've completed the layers, print the 4 corner pieces and snap them into the 4 corners. Use this to rest one layer on top of another to solder the two layers together. Rinse and repeat.
