Want to build a 3x3x3, 5x5x5, 8x8x8 or even a tiny 1x1x1 LED cube? With these prints you can create a jig for any size LED cube. Simply print the pieces and snap them together to make a jig that will help you solder your LED cube quickly and easily. Using the corner pieces, you can space the layers perfectly. The pieces are designed specifically for 3mm LEDs separated by 15mm. I've included the OpenSCAD files so you can tweak the pieces to fit your printer or LEDs if needed. Here's how to use it: Print one puzzle piece for each LED in a layer. Join the pieces together to form the layer, then add some prestik or putty to keep the LEDs snugly in place. Use this as your LED jig to solder a single layer. Once you've completed all the layers, print the four corner pieces and snap them onto the corners. This will allow you to rest one layer on top of another while you solder the two layers together. Just repeat the process until you're done!
