Adimlab X-Tensioner Improved Remix

This is a remix of the original FB Group Adimlab Gantry printer X-axis belt tensioner. This improved version thickens the base and top and adds a second triangular brace on each side for improved stiffness. The pulley housing area is lowered about .5 mm to restore the original position of the OEM pulley. The idler pulley is also remixed to account for slightly larger screw heads and it has been thickened for improved strength. HARDWARE: Use the OEM hardware that came with the printer to attach the tensioner to the printer. Use at least a 3mm x 35 screw to go through the pulley. You could also put a 3mm nut on the other side of the pulley to keep the screw from spinning. Use a 3mm nut in the knob. Don't use a nylock nut in the knob as it will put too much tension on the screw and it will just spin. 04/25/2020 UPDATE: Note the knob is different than the picture. Also updated the info on the hardware. 02/16/2020 UPDATE: When I printed this the front brace in the slot didn't work out so I have removed it. 12/29/2019 UPDATE: Corrected an issue with the v3 pulley. It should slide all the way back to the screw opening now. 9/14/2019 UPDATE: Version 3. Updated the model further including one with Adimlab logo and one without the logo. The pulley has proven to be weak so it is now thickened a bit. Probably best to print the pulley in PETG or ABS for strength, but this thickened part should hold up with PLA. Print Settings Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 35%-60% Notes: Recommend printing with PETG or ABS. PLA is ok, but over time the pulley may break. Version 3 of the pulley is thicker so it should hold up better. Print the body with 3 or more walls and high infill for strength. I recommend cubic infill at 50%. If you use support select support touching the bed only. If you print both pieces together than 50% cubic infill will be good for the Pulley. Print the pulley as oriented with support touching bed. For PLA it would probably be better to print the pulley with 100% infill. Category: 3D Printer Parts
