Adimlab Stepper Reinforcement Bracket
thingiverse
The thin metal bracket on the Adimlab i3 printer's Y stepper motor is prone to bending, a major design flaw that needs immediate attention. Furthermore, its mounting system is woefully inadequate as it relies solely on the top of the 2020 extrusion, which inevitably leads to loosening over time. To rectify this situation, an additional bracket has been designed to be installed on top of the existing one. This ingenious solution not only stiffens the metal but also provides a much-needed second point of support, thereby preventing any potential damage or malfunction. Update: 9/24/18 - The new bracket was finally mounted on the printer and it's performing flawlessly! No more worries about bending or loosening! Update: 9/27/18 - After carefully inspecting the design, a minor issue with the mesh was identified and promptly repaired. A revised STL file has been uploaded to ensure seamless printing results.
