cults3d
This heavy-duty adhesive tape dispenser derives its weight from a 1kg lead block integrated within the device. The lead was sourced from eBay, initially intended as a diving accessory. The body of the dispenser is constructed from eight layers of plywood. A desktop CNC machine by Stepcraft and six millimeter birch plywood were utilized for this purpose. A aluminum tube holds the tape in place. It would be aesthetically pleasing if this tube were replaced with a complete aluminum or perhaps a brass rod. The knife used was obtained from Opitec, a German crafts store. This knife was inserted into a thin slot that had been sawn using a small hacksaw after the inner parts had been glued together. To prevent slipping of the tape dispenser, experiments were conducted with funky foam, ultimately settling on a thin mousepad cut to size and secured with double-sided adhesive tape.
