This is Thingiverse's #702470 with some additions for my maker's edification. A circular camera mount was created by modifying Thingiverse's #45339 to include a cylinder, thus solving the age-old problem of a square peg in a round hole. A large box was also attached to house an Arduino Uno and stepper board, complete with a lid that conceals the dubious wiring skills of its creator. This project remains a work in progress, but it effectively hides those wires. To build this project, simply follow Thingiverse's instructions for #702470. The additions/changes included: The use of 4x150mm 2020 and 1x100mm printed from Thingiverse's #280318. Two parts were also printed to join the longer side using an extrusion cap tab extended out to 4cm or so. Unfortunately, the STL for this part is currently unavailable; however, it can be replicated by commenting out lines in the file and modifying the scad code for the endcap's tab to create a longer section. An Arduino Uno board was utilized in this project. A spare USB camera was used to fit inside the top mount of the scanner. Some have suggested that this may not be advisable since it obstructs the lasers, so future updates will address these concerns. As the calibration process continues to pose challenges, this project remains unfinished. Nevertheless, further updates will follow once a satisfactory scan is achieved.
