Different textured sections for Mysterme's innovative reuse of spools catch my attention. The concept resonates, but I desired to infuse more futuristic and neutral themes to transcend the rustic charm of cobbled streets. Integrated into this design are a hexagonal tile pattern, metal grating, and an Opus-inspired paving slab layout - a lesser-known architectural element that I discovered while researching. The spools employed in this project boasted an internal diameter of 82mm, courtesy of Geetech's offerings; however, the files shared here reflect a standardized dimension of 88mm. To ensure precise layer separation, custom-made bobbin-style spacers were designed and implemented, carefully calibrated around a 22mm wooden dowel serving as the central axis - salvaged from an old pool cue. Lockdown restrictions thwarted my initial quest to source a bearing race for seamless rotation, prompting the inclusion of a supplementary spacer that maintains sufficient clearance between bobbins on the central dowel, thus permitting effortless spool rotation without compromising the stability of higher positioned spools or bobbins.
