Additional parts for Dual X-Axis AM8
thingiverse
I assembled an A8 and saw that it was great. It was crying out for an independent dual x-axis conversion, so I looked around here and printed various parts and made it, and it turned out to be awesome. A picture is printing a part in PETG with PLA support, which breaks away perfectly. Most other parts came from: Dual X carriage for Anet A8, thing:2688392 by boxlee A8 DUAL IDEX X carriage, thing:3811587 by audrms1301 The left idler was modified from "X_Idler_Left_Channel_Leo.stl" to hold the large and small bearings side by side. Unfortunately I couldn't find the author of that part now - if it was you please let me know! I added height adjustment for T1 hotend and a SG-90 servo mount for the T0 hotend, some fan mounts and some nozzle parking bays/wipers. It's also not bad, and I love the whole servo Z-probe thing, especially if you can get it working well with dual axis (please let me know - I'm still struggling!). The wipers use standard F-shaped 6mm silicone draft excluder, which stops up the nozzles while they're parked, preventing them from dumping their load. It works quite well. I recklessly super-glued the two X end-stops but so far they're holding out fine. While I'm on super-glue, the wipers were actually designed to be glued onto the idlers, but you could screw them down too if you have a small drill handy (which you do). Using Marlin firmware with the Dual X enabled, a CNC v1.3 board for the extra stepper.
