Additional Face shield with added protection
thingiverse
Here's an updated version of Part1 of my face shield design, with added protection that makes it more robust. I thought best to add this as a remix since it's actually an alternative version to the original rather than a completely new design. The added protection comes from its wider shape and solid top and bottom layers made up of two layers each. Although the lattice structure remains the core of the design, the original **Part2** will still fit perfectly in this updated design. The link to the original can be found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4275083. Adding a couple of minutes more in print time compared to the original gives you that added protection without taking much longer to produce. This design can also be stacked, similar to the original design; however, this is not quite as easy to accomplish with the solid top and bottom layers as it was with the open lattice design. When importing the STL file, you may get a repair error due to the new version being made up of three objects. But don't worry - it will still print just fine. This updated version also gives you the freedom to change the thicknesses of the top and bottom solid layers based on your print settings. Print Settings: Layer Height: 0.2mm (Please note that design may need to be adapted if intending to stack prints with thinner or thicker layer heights such as 0.4, 0.6mm etc.) Infill: 0% Perimeter Shells: 1 Top & bottom solid layers: 2 I have decided not to remake the instructions for this additional version since fundamentally it is the same with just the added protection, so please see the original instruction page detailing how to put together. Also, the original **Part2** STL files are still interchangeable so I won't re-upload those here just the updated files. If you have any questions or would like to provide some feedback, feel free to ask and it will be most appreciated.
