The box can be secured to the CNC 3018 using T-Nut (nut stones). Additionally, a holder for a small board is provided (3.5 cm length / 2 cm height). The two round cutouts can be used for banana jacks to connect the Z-probe. This is my first box and the lid fits very well. However, I'm not sure if the lid can be easily removed without problems. Therefore, it's a good idea to double-check everything before closing. The box was needed to connect the light sensors (2 pieces per axis). The Woodpeckerboard 3.4 has two connections for each endstop on the board, but they are connected together on the board. This means that if one axis recognizes the limit and outputs 5V from the light sensor, the second light sensor still outputs 0V. This would cause a short circuit. To prevent this, I added a diode to each output. Each pair of diodes per axis is combined into one output. A resistor of 1K is connected in series with GND (negative) at the combined output to provide a defined state for the control board. In total, six diodes and three resistors are installed.
