A compact set of storage drawers designed to fit snugly inside an empty 1kg filament spool. Four drawers arrange themselves around the spool in a precise manner. To create this space-saving storage solution, print four sets of spooldrawer.stl and insert.stl files, along with one base.stl file. Next, prepare your drill for eight precise holes that measure 5 mm in diameter. Here's where the drilling process comes into play: * Drilling begins at 11 mm from the outer rim of the spool. * Four holes need to be drilled on the top side of the spool, evenly spaced at 90-degree increments around the central axis. * Another four holes will be drilled on the bottom side, perfectly aligned with their counterparts above. With these holes in place, it's time to assemble the drawers. Each drawer is carefully placed inside the spool so that its top pivot fits snugly into a pre-drilled hole. Then, an insert is pushed up through the corresponding bottom hole and into the drawer's lower compartment, effectively locking the drawer in position and providing a stable pivot point for easy opening and closing. The final step involves gluing the base into the central underside hole, creating a sturdy foundation for the entire assembly. This ingenious design also allows users to utilize the spool's center as additional storage space.
