SEE:http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:737600 \n\nThis file prints two sets of end adapters for balancing self tightening 6mm CCW and CW blades as used on DJI Phantom and others from polished 3mm tool steel rod. The .stl file includes designs for both right and left-handed rods, similar to those found on actual DJI Phantom motors. A user also posted a similar design "End_cap_adapter_for_Phantom_20_x_8mm.stl", by jjisnow. The adapters were printed using ABS material with two of the CCW pieces marked at the ends with a black Sharpie for clear identification. To achieve an accurate print, slow printing speeds and 0.1mm layer thickness were used. New to 3D printing myself, my early prints often resulted in rough textures, oversized dimensions, and excessively tight holes, which required post-print cleanup using metal dies to trim the parts and ream out the holes for a better fit with the 3mm rod. In order to ensure accurate placement of features like threads and holes on DJI Phantom motor ends, this file's designs more closely mirror actual specifications. Further refinement might resolve issues currently plaguing print accuracy. In preparation for an even cleaner finish without additional cleanup, it is hoped that ongoing calibrations will become easier to comprehend. Adding brims helps maintain part orientation while printing and also eases removal once printed.
