Adapters for 45 Vinyl Records
prusaprinters
Welcome back to the continuing saga! This week's record adapter contest gives a lot of room for creativity. I was torn between creating something emblematic (the 45 mandala coin), something visually interesting when spinning (the XO spinny-do), something modern and abstract, or something with sound-board-esque knobs … so I ended up creating 5 adapters. Then inspiration hit. If you're going to do something representing music, someone's got to represent Spinal Tap - after all, that one goes to 11.The Models:All six have an outer model diameter of 38.1mm (1.5") and an inner hole diameter of 7.3mm (9.32"). The bases of the adapters - the parts that accommodate the record - are all 5mm tall (one exception - the grooves on the base of the Spinal Tap adapter are 3mm).Printing:Printed on my Anycubic Viper in silver silk PLA at 200C and 50mm/s on a 60C heated bed with no supports or bed adhesion.I printed one Spinal Tap adapter at 80mm/s and the details - especially those on the top - came out much less clean (comparatively) than the one printed at 50mm/s (pictured). For those of you following, you know that my printing skills are in development, so I'm sure your printed versions will turn out even better!Have fun!
